Burgess Modern + Contemporary is pleased to announce the representation of the David Hayes Estate.
American sculptor, David Hayes (1931 - 2013), is renowned for his painted steel sculptures that have been exhibited internationally. His work is held in major museum collections including the Museum of Modern Art and the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, NY.
David Hayes was born in Hartford, CT. He matriculated through the University of Notre Dame and received an MFA from Indiana University, where he studied with distinguished artist, David Smith. He is the recipient of a post-doctoral Fulbright award, a Guggenheim Fellowship, the Logan Prize for Sculpture, and an award from the National Institute of Arts and Letters.
“My father left a significant legacy of work in both sculpture and paintings,” says John Hayes, Curator of the David Hayes Sculpture Foundation. “I look forward to working with Lisa Burgess of Burgess Modern + Contemporary on representing my late father’s estate.”
"Burgess Modern + Contemporary is honored to be working closely with the Estate to bring the artist’s work to a wider audience through the curation of selling exhibitions and representation at major art fairs nationally and internationally,” states Lisa Burgess. “We will also act as a consulting partner and collaborate with the David Hayes Estate on public art exhibitions, projects, and printed publications.”
